For over 25 years, Mark has had management responsibility for healthcare revenue cycle management organizations. Mark earned his BS degree in Health Care Administration with subsequent graduate studies in an MBA program, both at Wichita State University. Since that time, his entire career has been devoted to various aspects of health care receivables. His experience has included provider types ranging from a large teaching hospital to the largest national ambulance companies, both air and ground. He previously developed and managed a third-party billing and collections business owned by a larger healthcare system. Throughout his career, Mark has had accountability for wide geographical areas of responsibility, both regional and national in scope.

In 1997, Mark developed an integrated regional billing center for AMR, the largest ground ambulance company in the U.S. at that time. In 1999, he completed development of the national billing center for air ambulance company Rocky Mountain Holdings, LLC, LifeNet Community-Based Services Division. Following his return to AMR in 2001 to develop other regional billing offices, in 2004, he joined Air Methods Corporation (AMC), to become the Senior Vice President of Revenue Cycle Management. In addition, he had responsibility for AMC Medical Records, and Complete Billing Solutions (CBS), a third-party receivables management service, specializing in air and ground medical transportation receivables management. Ultimately Keene lead a staff of over 250, billing for more than $1 billion in AR annually. Just prior to joining PHI Air Medical, he served as Executive Vice President of Revenue Cycle Management for Apollo MedFlight in Amarillo, TX. Mr. Keene is pleased to be contributing to the continuous improvement process of PHI’s Patient Financial Services revenue cycle management team of over 100 of the best RCM specialists in the industry.
